Ridley Pearson Book Signing

I had the opportunity to attend a book signing by Ridley Pearson, author of the Kingdom Keeper series.  The event took place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on January 26th at the Writer’s Shop.  The event was very organized and the line moved quickly.  Mr. Pearson was very nice and ever commented that I had a unique first name.  I decided to have the first book, Kingdom Keepers-Disney After Dark signed.

I enjoy the series and recommend it to Disney fans that are always on the search for a Disney-fix when away from the parks.  The series consists of four books and the fifth one is rumored to be released early at an event in March of this year.  The titles are as follows:

Kingdom Keepers II – Disney at Dawn

Kingdom Keepers III – Disney in Shadow

Kingdom Keepers IV – Power Play

Kingdom Keepers V – Shell Game (Spring 2012 release)

I hope to be able to attend the March book signing event to meet Mr. Pearson again and purchase the fifth book.

Fabulous Find Friday

Today’s Fabulous Find Friday item is a book called Wit and Wisdom of Disney.  I purchased this book from Hallmark and they have labeled it as one of their “gift books”.  It has several quotes from Walt Disney and Disney movies.  I love posting Disney related quotes on my Facebook page and this 72 page book was a helpful quick reference. There are 5 sections: Finding Friendship, Dealing With Life’s Little Quirks, Following Your Dreams, Being Yourself, and Falling In Love.  I have given this book to my Disney crazed friends and they enjoy it.  It retails for $9.95.

This is the second week for the Disney Blog Hop started by Lisa of Babes In Disneyland.   If you are a Disney blogger, I encourage you to sign up at Babes In Disneyland .

This week’s theme is “Disney Bucket List”.  Several things come to mind of what I would like to do that is Disney related.   Due to me going to Walt Disney World several times a year, I am ready to venture out and experience new things.

My Disney Bucket List consists of the following:

  • To visit Disneyland Paris Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, and Tokyo Disney Resort
  • To visit Aulani Disney Hawaii Resort
  • To cruise on all the Disney ships – Fantasy, Magic and the Wonder.  I sailed on the Dream, March 2011
  • Stay at the Grand Floridian Resort at Walt Disney World

This pretty much sums it up my Disney Bucket List.  I would love to hear what is on your list.

Fabulous Find Friday

The Fabulous Find Friday item is a reusable Love Mickey Mouse Tote from the Disney Store.  I do like using reusable totes  to help the environment of course and the totes are fun to carry around.  The outside pocket can be used to hold a notebook or your coupons when shopping.  This tote can be found at the Disney Store and DisneyStore.com.  The tote retails for $3.50.  Shown below are front and side views.

Balance

The term balance can have so many meanings.  It is important to maintain balance for our emotional well-being.  A good example is balance between work and play.  At times being able to maintain balance can be hard depending upon circumstances and situations.

I will admit my balance has been off lately due to work, my father being sick, and the many “to-do-lists” I have created.  There is not time for me to just sit and relax.  No, let me be honest.  I can sit and attempt to relax.  My mind continues to run thus creating anxiety.  At some point we all have experienced not being in balance.  It is important on how you maintain balance as well as retaining it when chaos appears.

Here we are at paragraph three and you are probably wondering how this ties into Disney.  For me going to Disney helps restore my balance.  The real world is left behind with the emails, phone calls, and clients’ crises.  Being in the parks and taking in the sights at a slow pace revitalizes me.  I get ideas for certain projects I want to pursue due to having a clear head.  On solo trips to the parks, I enjoy my resort more by staying in the room getting a good night’s sleep or walking around getting exercise.

I can not say it enough how balance is importance to our emotional health and physical health.  Most of the time, my balance is restored or given extra pixie dust by visiting Disney World.  Is your balance restored or given a positive boost while experiencing something Disney related such as going to a Disney park, attending a Disney related meet up or even blogging?  I would love to hear how Disney affects your balance.

2012 Disney Blog Hop – “Special smiles with the characters”

I am participating in my first blog hop.  This Disney Blog Hop was started by Lisa of Babes In Disneyland.   I have been introduced to several Disney related blogs because of this hop. If you are a Disney blogger, I encourage you to sign up at Babes In Disneyland .

Last week’s theme was “What you are looking forward to most of 2012”.  This week’s theme is “Special smiles with the characters”.

The following pictures are of me with characters from The Princess and the Frog.

To be honest, I do not take that many pictures with the characters.  I will do better with that once my two month old nephew starts going to the parks with me.  I want to take more pictures with Mickey Mouse and rare characters such as Uncle Scrooge and The Seven Dwarfs.

Project Good Life

A very good friend, Shaene C ( @Shaene_o_mite ) , no he is my little brother from another mother, sent an email asking for pictures of me and family enjoying anything Disney.  It took me a while to find pictures because I am the one that takes the pictures and not in them.  Once I located a couple of pictures of me at Walt Disney World and on the Dream cruise ship, I sent them to him.  I then inquired to what was this “Project Good Life” he was developing.  The results can be seen by clicking on the link below.

Project Good Life

No matter what we go through, in the end we do have a Good Life.

The Challenge-Disney’s “One More Disney Day”

There have been rumors circulating about the meaning of “One More Disney Day” mean.  On December 31, 2011 during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest it was announced.   For the first time, Disneyland parks and Magic Kingdom Park will be open for 24 hours, from 6am on February 29, 2012 to 6am March 1, 2012.  They are giving guests extra time in the parks for this Leap Year.

Sara M. (@DisneySara) and I are up for the challenge.  We have other friends who may join us and I am eagerly awaiting on confirmations.  I booked a room on Disney property right after the announcement was made.  Sara and I are so excited. We have talked about all we want to do and wonder if there will be special merchandise.  Yes, Disney please make a special commemorative pin for this event.

Now for the people who know me, they are reading this and shaking their heads laughing.  I am not a night person.  I can go to bed at 8pm if I am not doing anything.  Staying up past 10pm is a great achievement.  I am wondering how I will fair at Magic Kingdom for 24 hours.  Do I train for this by staying up for 12 hours then 24 hours?   I could report on which attractions are the best to take a power nap on or how to sleep on a bench with your eyes open. Any advice?

There are other specials for this event such as getting an entire night free when staying at either a Walt Disney World Resort hotel or Disneyland Resort hotel for 3 nights or more.  This applies to stays between February 26, 2012 and March 10, 2012.  You must purchase by January 31, 2012. A sweepstakes is also taking place.  Disney is giving away 60 vacation packages.  This sweepstakes began on January 1, 2012 and ends on February 29.  For more information on these specials and “One More Disney Day” click here OneMoreDisneyDay.com

I cannot wait to do a report on what all I did with my “One More Disney Day”.  If you will be there, please let me know.

Happy New Year!!!

Hope 2012 brings you closer to your goals, continued happiness, and more magical days!!!
