Glenn Leedy (1935-2004) was an African American actor who was recruited to play Toby in The Song of the South. Mr. Leedy was discovered while playing on his school’s playground in Arizona. In doing my research, I was limited in finding any articles on how Mr. Leedy felt about the controversial movie. However, he talked highly about Walt Disney and lessons learned from him. Outside of acting in The Song of the South, Mr. Leedy voiced Jasper in the movie, The Puppetoon Volume 3.
