Disney Behind the Scenes – Nicodemus Stewart

Nicodemus Stewart (March 15, 1910 – December 18, 2000) was an American television and film actor. He provided the voice of Br’er Bear in Song of the South and in the Disneyland version of Splash Mountain. Mr. Stewart was also known for his role as Lightnin’ on the Amos and Andy television series.

Today’s mug come from Starbucks. I purchased this mug last year because I do spend enough time at Starbucks to have one. It features the new Siren logo. The mug can be purchased at the Starbucks Online Store or at a store. It retails for $6.95.

Fabulous Find Friday
Today’s fabulous find comes from Ava Baby Co. owned by Leslie Krzan (@LeslieKrzan). I purchased a Mickey Mouse Cosmetic Makeup Bag/Pencil Case/Travel Diaper Case with Matching Tissue Case. Per the site “This cosmetic case features Mickey Mouse with a cute blue and red plaid background. It is lined on the inside for extra durability. This bag has a zipper closure along the top and measure approximately 9″ x 5 1/2″. Use this to toss your make up in or as a travel case for all your important things! Great for gifts! I will use it as a makeup bag for traveling. I think the matching tissue case is just adorable (travel size tissue is not included). Leslie asked if I wanted to keep the buttons or replace with a Mickey Mouse head iron-on. I opted for the iron-on and I was surprised to see my initial on it.

Tasty Thursday: Jungle Juice
It’s getting warmer so that means we need to stay hydrated. Water is great, but I can drink this Jungle Juice all day. I remember the first time I tasted it at Boma. I kept wanting our waiter to bring out more! I have even asked Ms. DizThruBrownEyes to stop by Boma to pick me up some and freeze it to bring to me.
No such luck.
So I made it myself using 1/2 cups of each juice for a single serving. Even shook it up in my martini shaker with some ice.
Then..wait. Who is that?
How did she get….
Hey! Get away from my drink Ursula. You are not welcome here! By the way, don’t you belong in the sea.
I see you needed reminding. Bye bye!
Back to my drink.

Fabulous Find Friday
Today’s item is celebrating Walt Disney World’s Star Wars Weekends that starts today at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I am not a Star Wars fan (please don’t hit me with a light saber) but I do think some of the merchandise looks nice. I bought Duffy a Jedi Training Academy outfit. This outfit even comes with a light saber that lights up by pressing on the bottom. The light saber’s batteries are included and not replaceable. The outfit retails for $20.

Disney Behind The Scenes – Samuel E. Wright

Samuel E. Wright is a theater actor and singer who was the voice of Sebastian in The Little Mermaid. He sung “Under the Sea” which, as we know, won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Mr. Wright was also the voice for Kron, the Iguanodon, in Dinosaur.

Tasty Thursday: Broccoli Cranberry Salad
It’s spring time and that means there are so many great fresh fruits and vegetables becoming available. One is broccoli, a favorite of mine. This doesn’t take long to whip this up and can be made the day before so it’s great for a picnic (make sure you can keep it chilled because one of the ingredients is mayo).
Broccoli Cranberry Salad
From Allears
Ingredients:
4 cups broccoli flowerettes , chopped fine
1/4 cup celer, celery
8 oz. dried cranberries
1/4 cup shelled sunflower seeds
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup vinegar
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, combine broccoli, cranberries, sunflower seeds and celery.
2. In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise, sugar, and vinegar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Pour dressing over broccoli and toss. Keep refrigerated.

Fabulous Find Friday
Today’s fabulous find is a staple from my childhood. It is the famous Trapper Keeper by Mead. I found this at Target about 2 to 3 years ago during the “Back To School” time of year. Those that know me know I love notebooks, binders, etc. So of course I would be in this section of the store. When I saw the Trapper Keeper, I had to look twice because I have not seen them in a long time. The one I had as a child was blue and I placed stickers all over it. The current version has a plastic cover on the front and a fabric-like texture on the back. It does not have the classic 3 folders inside, instead there are 5 dividers. My find this Friday may not be Disney related. However, if I decide to add some Disney stickers it would.
