I finally placed an order with the Shop Disney Parks App to ship to my home. I have been anticipating the release of the Disney TAG (Travel-Accessories-Gear) items since announced on Disney Parks Blog. I was crossing my fingers certain items would show up in the app to prevent me from waiting until my April trip. Yes, I was somewhat being impatient.
I ordered a Disney TAG Character Travel Luggage Tag, Disney TAG Mickey Icon Travel Wallet, and Disney TAG Mickey Passport Wallet.
I found the app easy to use and understand. Once it was time to check out, I ensured that all of my info was correct in the profile. The information that you place in your Disney.com profile is linked to the app. However, you can change the shipping address if needed. If you are an Annual Passholder, Disney Vacation Club Member, or Disney Cast Member, make sure your affiliations are in your profile to receive your respective discount.
I want to point out that some items will be listed as “out of stock” early in the morning when first released. I check back mid-afternoon and the item is available to order. I have no answer to why that is.
There was some difficulty submitting the order and I had to try at least three times. I was given an error message and was not sure what was causing it. I went back into my profile to ensure all information was put in correctly. So I was not sure what was going on. After double checking, my order was submitted and I received a confirmation via email.
You can check the status of your order in the app. The items were ready to ship the next day and I was given a tracking number. My package arrived via UPS in less than a week. I had no issues with the packaging. Inside was the items ordered, a thank you note, a shipping receipt, and return form. My items arrived in a good condition.
I have used the app in the parks to locate items, but never attempted to order from home. I think this is a good addition to order park exclusive merchandise besides DisneyStore.com. Plus, DisneyStore.com does not offer every item the Shop Disney Parks app does. When they do offer the same items, you can have a choice of who to order from as well as having a backup if one sells out of an item before the other does. Shop Disney Parks App has offered free shipping if a certain amount was spent. I love free shipping by the way.
With the Shop Disney Parks App, Disney has given us another way to get our Disney fix as well as spend money.
