inkDisney: Making Your Love for the Mouse Permanent

By Shaene Carson

Some people have had the love for all things mouse from an early age because they grew up watching the Disney Channel, while for others it was magical feeling that they experienced walking into a Disney Theme Park for the first time. In any case, as Walt really wanted it to be, Disney has a way of invoking strong emotions in people. Those emotions lead some to display their love for Disney by getting a tattoo. In this series, we will talk to some of those people who are part of the “inkDisney” family. We want to find out why they love Disney so much and what inspired them to take their love for the Mouse to the next level. This week, we will talk to one of our readers. Her name is Erin and she is from Rhode Island!

When did your love for Disney start?

I’ve always been a big Disney fan! The first movie I ever saw in theaters was The Little Mermaid. My siblings and I grew up watching Disney movies and it was a way of bonding for us. My Nana also signed me up for a Disney book club so every month I received a new Disney book. I still have the whole collection of them and I’m so happy that I have them to share with my kids now.

When did you get your tattoo?

I got this tattoo in February. It was my husband’s Valentine’s Day gift to me! I still have to go back to get a few spots touched up after the healing process.

How long did it take to complete?

This one is pretty small and was done in a little over an hour.

What inspired you to get your tattoo?

I let my husband choose the design. I wanted something that represented us, so he chose the fairy tale ending scene from Cinderella. We had our honeymoon in Walt Disney World so I think this is just the perfect representation of us.

Do you plan to get anymore Disney tattoos?

Yes, I plan on getting my whole arm done with Disney tattoos.  My next will be Dumbo, for my first born son.

  1. I like the reason for her tattoo…and the design itself is a lovely work of art!
