A Touch of Disney in Black History featuring Bruce W. Smith

Bruce W. Smith was the supervising animator for Disney’s The Princess and the Frog.  Mr. Smith referred to Dr. Facilier as the “lovechild” of his two favorite Disney Villains, Captain Hook and Cruella de Vil. He was nominated for the Annie Award for Character Animation in a Feature Production for his work. Mr. Smith is also known as the creator of Disney Channel’s The Proud Family, as well as the supervising animator of Kerchak in Tarzan, Pacha in The Emperor’s New Groove, and Piglet, Kanga, and Roo in the Winnie the Pooh movie.  He co-founded Jambalaya Studios to produce at least 50 episodes of the Proud Family along with The Proud Family TV movie.
