As you have heard and seen, Huffy Bicycles debuted limited edition Mickey and Minnie Cruiser bicycles at the 2013 Disney’s D23 Expo. The cruises are limited to 1000 each and as of Sunday over half had been sold. I had the pleasure of talking to Ms. Desiree Bartoe, PR Senior Account Executive with Brunner, who was representing Huffy bicycles. She gave me a tour of the Huffy bicycles booth at the expo as well as provided me with information of these wonderful bicycles. The adult bicycles became available to order on 8/9, which was the first day of Disney’s D23 Expo.
Per the official press release the cruisers can be described as having “aluminum frames and combine vintage Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse styling with custom features. Solid craftsmanship was used to create features ranging from the intricate sprocket design to the retro styled front bicycle headlight on the Mickey Mouse cruiser and the fabric lined wicker basket on the Minnie Mouse cruiser. The Mickey Mouse face and ears icon is sculpted into several components, including the chrome grip end caps, the fender caps and – everyone’s favorite – the valve stems. The fenders feature movie graphics from Disney’s classic cartoon short “Steamboat Willie,” and each cruiser features collector packaging, complete with a numbered certificate of authenticity.”
