Mean Muggin’ Monday Starbucks Edition
Today’s Mean Muggin’ Monday comes to you from 1912 Pike Place Market. For us that frequent Starbucks, we are familiar with that address. This is the location of the first Starbucks store, which opened in 1971. Well to be more detailed the store was first located at 2000 Western Avenue and then moved to 1912 Pike Place Market around 1976. My sister, JoVonn (@jhgive) was visiting Seattle, Washington before her and her family’s cruise to Alaska. My only request to her was to stop by this Starbucks location to get me a mug. Of course being the loving little sister that she is complied with my request. During her visit to the store, we stayed in contact via iMessage. She informed me the end of the line was outside of the store filled with eager tourists like her. She stated the line moved fast and before she knew it, she was drinking her Caramel Macchiato.
JoVonn stated the mugs are in boxes which is a plus to make taking them home easier. As you can see below Thomas the Train wanted to be in the picture courtesy of my nephew, Jacob.
My mug is from the “You Are Here” collection. The mug holds 14oz and retails for $10.95. It is chocolate brown on the inside and the storefront of the first Starbucks at 1912 Pike Place Market on the outside.
My sister’s mug is called “The First Starbucks Store”. The mug holds 12oz and retails for $10.95 also. It was made in the USA and has the original logo.
Below is a video of the store as well as a mug demonstration. Enjoy!

Today’s mug is showing my school spirit for Monsters University. I guess this mug was made for a monstrous appetite that needs huge quantities of caffeine to study. I purchased the mug at the Disney Store. It is also available at DisneyStore.com and retails for $12.50.

Today’s feature is not a mug but a sippy cup that was purchased at Walt Disney World. Of course it belongs to my nephew Jacob! It has a spout with a straw attached.
Note from mom: Unfortunately, this cup leaks so it should probably be used for slightly older kids who may not want to pour all of the contents on the floor.

Grown up enough for me to add a touch of Disney daily and not steal from the kids. It was a gift from a close friend who knows my obsession (I think at Bed Bath Beyond) and awesome because it can be hot or cold and if you break it Tervis will give you a new one”.

Fabulous Find Friday – Mike and Jen’s Winter Survival Cocoa Mix
Today’s fabulous find comes in the form of a warm drink for the winter…..Mike and Jen’s Winter Survival Cocoa Mix. I first learned of this cocoa from @DisneyDean , who I met several years ago on Twitter. He took on this venture along with his children to create a wonderful cocoa mix. The mix arrived last week via United States Postal Service priority mail. I used 8oz of hot water and about 3 heaping tablespoons of mix. Milk can be used instead of water and I will try that next time. The cocoa was very rich and I must say good. I am a chocolate person and this cocoa hit the spot.
I was informed Mike and Jen’s Winter Survival Cocoa Mix is made up of the following ingredients:
- Italian Cocoa
- Whole Milk
- Organic Confectioner’s Sugar
- Organic Pure Cane Sugar
- Corn Starch
- Organic Vanilla Bean
- Salt
A 1 pound 12 ounces bag costs $12.95 (part of the proceeds are donated to the American Cancer Society) plus shipping and handling. You can order at their website here.
Also visit and “like” Mike and Jen’s Winter Survival Cocoa Mix on Facebook. When you visit and/or order tell them Diz Thru Brown Eyes sent you!!
